Mahindra Posts A Strong July: 60,000+ SUVs Dispatched

Mahindra dispatched 60,048 SUVs in the domestic market in July 2026, keeping its monthly volume above the 60,000-unit mark for the second month in a row. The number was 20 per cent higher than the 49,871 SUVs dispatched in July 2025.

Including exports, utility vehicle volume stood at 60,887 units. Mahindra’s total automotive sales, covering SUVs, light commercial vehicles, three-wheelers and exports, reached 1,03,860 units, up 26 per cent year on year.

The July performance was slightly below June, when Mahindra dispatched 60,393 SUVs domestically. The difference was only 345 units, or around 0.6 per cent. That makes July less about a fresh monthly record and more about the company sustaining a run rate that was difficult to imagine a few years ago.

Mahindra’s domestic SUV sales crossed 60,000 units in both June and July. More importantly, the growth was not limited to a single new launch or a short production push. Between April and July 2026, Mahindra dispatched 2,34,793 SUVs, compared with 2,01,938 units in the same four months last year. That works out to 16 per cent growth.

These are wholesale figures, which means vehicles dispatched to dealerships rather than registrations completed with customers. Retail demand can differ from wholesales in an individual month, especially when dealer stocks are being increased or reduced. Even with that qualification, two consecutive months at roughly 60,000 units show that Mahindra’s factories and dealer network are handling a much larger volume base.

The company now has several models capable of contributing meaningful numbers every month. Its range covers the XUV 3XO, Bolero family, Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N, three-door Thar and Thar Roxx, XUV 7XO, XEV 9S, XEV 9e and BE 6.

A model-wise split for July was not available at the time of writing. The June numbers, however, show why Mahindra’s overall SUV sales have become more stable.

The Scorpio range led June with 14,097 units. The Thar range contributed 10,669 units, while the XUV 3XO reached 10,063 units. The XUV 7XO added 9,244 units and the Bolero family accounted for 9,115 units.

Together, these five nameplates generated 53,188 units, or about 88 per cent of Mahindra’s June SUV volume. This spread reduces dependence on one product. A softer month for one model can be partly offset by another, while the electric SUVs add incremental volume above the established diesel and petrol range.

The electric contribution is still smaller than that of Scorpio, Thar or Bolero, but it is no longer negligible. In June, the XEV 9S recorded 4,018 units, the XEV 9e 2,006 units and the BE 6 1,150 units. These three electric SUVs together accounted for 7,174 units.

Mahindra’s July total also included 25,204 domestic commercial vehicles, up 23 per cent. Three-wheeler sales rose 53 per cent to 14,538 units, while total exports increased 47 per cent to 4,070 units.

For car consumers, the important number remains 60,048. Mahindra sells almost no conventional hatchbacks or sedans, so its passenger vehicle performance depends almost entirely on SUVs.

Holding above 60,000 units without a large month-on-month swing shows that the company’s growth is being supported by multiple established products, newer electric models and the ability to produce them at scale.
