Mahindra has expanded the Veero light commercial vehicle range with a new 1.1-tonne CNG version priced from Rs 8.25 lakh and an upgraded diesel range starting at Rs 8.29 lakh, ex-showroom.
The new Veero 1.1 XXL CNG is aimed mainly at city delivery work. Its headline numbers are a 1.1-tonne payload, a 2,900mm or 9.5-foot cargo deck, claimed fuel efficiency of 21.4km/kg and a combined petrol plus CNG driving range of more than 450km.
It will reach customers from September 20. The updated Veero diesel is available from September 8. The CNG is offered in V2 and V4 versions at Rs 8.25 lakh and Rs 8.55 lakh respectively. A Pastel Riversand paint option costs Rs 5,000 extra.
Mahindra already sells a higher-capacity Veero CNG, but the new 1.1 XXL moves the range into a lower payload class. That makes it useful for goods that occupy a lot of space before they reach the vehicle’s maximum permissible load.
Mahindra specifically lists FMCG distribution, fruit and vegetable transport, e-commerce, courier work and general city market loads as target applications. A 5.1-metre turning radius is intended to make the vehicle easier to use in narrow streets and tight loading areas.
Power comes from a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 48.5 kW, or about 65 Bhp, and 98 Nm. The claimed 21.4km/kg CNG efficiency will matter more to operators than outright performance because fuel is one of the largest recurring costs in urban delivery work.
The new 1.1-tonne version also undercuts Mahindra’s earlier Veero CNG, which was launched in 2025 from Rs 8.99 lakh with a 1.4-tonne payload.
The diesel update focuses more on the cabin and long-distance usability. Mahindra has added a 26.03cm touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, voice commands and multiple language options. Cruise control is also new.
Power windows and fast-charging ports are now standard across the diesel range. Other equipment includes air-conditioning with heater, a reclining driver’s seat with adjustable headrest, D+2 seating and flat-fold seats that can provide a sleeping surface during stops.
Mahindra’s iMAXX connected-vehicle system offers more than 50 functions including vehicle tracking, geofencing, route planning, vehicle-health monitoring and fuel tracking. Remote AC operation has now been added. The updated diesel also gets LNT, or Lean NOx Trap, technology for emissions control.
The upgraded diesel range has several payload and body configurations. The 1.5 XL standard-deck V2 starts at Rs 8.29 lakh. The 1.5 XXL standard-deck costs Rs 8.49 lakh in V2, Rs 8.82 lakh in V4 and Rs 9.45 lakh in V6.
The 1.5 XXL heavy-duty V2 is Rs 8.75 lakh, while the cab-and-chassis version costs Rs 8.35 lakh in V2 and Rs 8.68 lakh in V4. The 1.6 XXL standard-deck costs Rs 8.49 lakh in V2 and Rs 9.45 lakh in V6, while the 1.6 XXL heavy-duty V2 is Rs 8.75 lakh. Grey paint adds Rs 5,000.
Veero was introduced in September 2024 on Mahindra’s Urban Prosper Platform, a modular commercial-vehicle architecture designed to support multiple powertrains. This latest expansion makes that strategy more visible. The new CNG version targets operators who need a long deck without a 1.4-tonne payload, while the diesel update adds comfort and connectivity features aimed at drivers spending long hours in the vehicle.
