Mahira Khan tests ChatGPT with chemistry questions

Mahira Khan recently shared an amusing and thought-provoking experience on social media, where she decided to test ChatGPT using simple chemistry questions. Her experiment quickly turned into a lighthearted reflection on the reliability of artificial intelligence.

According to her post, she began by asking a basic chemistry-related question. Initially, the AI failed to provide the correct answer, which surprised her given the simplicity of the query. However, what stood out was that the system later acknowledged its mistake and corrected itself, eventually giving the right answer—sulfur dioxide.

Encouraged by this, Mahira asked another question, this time related to carbon monoxide. Once again, the AI stumbled at first but soon corrected its response, apologizing and providing the accurate information. She found this pattern both interesting and slightly concerning.
Sharing the interaction in a humorous tone, Mahira highlighted how even advanced AI tools can make errors in fundamental topics. She playfully remarked that her inner “studious self” kept pushing her to test the system further, almost as if she were examining a student.

Beyond the humor, her experience carried a subtle message: while AI can be incredibly useful, it should not be blindly trusted for every piece of information. Even for basic academic questions, there is always a possibility of error, making human judgment and verification essential.
