Patna: A major train accident was almost averted on Sunday morning in Arrah, Bihar. Three parts of Mahananda Express (15483) going from Alipurduar Junction to Delhi derailed near Ara railway station. The accident happened on the up line, about 200 meters away from platform number 2 of the station. It is a matter of relief that at present there is no information about any casualty of any passenger.
Three coaches including engine derailed
According to preliminary information, SLR and H-1 coaches along with the train engine derailed. There was a stir in the railway administration after the incident. Senior railway officials, engineers and technical staff immediately reached the spot and started relief and repair work.
It is being told that the train was to go towards New Delhi, but it allegedly went in the direction of Sasaram route. After the station master noticed this, the loco pilot was informed about it. While trying to bring the train back on track, the engine and two coaches derailed.
All three coaches were put back on track
After the accident, the railway team quickly started relief work. Work was done to bring all three derailed parts back on track. At the same time, technical experts have also started examining the track and signal system. Information has come to light that due to the incident, rail operations will also be affected. Railway teams are busy in normalizing the system as soon as possible.
Signal will also be checked
Officials are trying to find out how the train went in the wrong direction and whether there was any disturbance in the signal system. At present, final information regarding the cause of the accident has not been revealed.
Railway officials say that only after a detailed investigation, the real cause of the accident and responsibility for it can be decided. Keeping in mind the safety of passengers, surveillance and technical investigation is going on at the spot.
