Major action against 194 vehicles parked on the highway side

Kanpur. Under the direction of Deputy Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kumar, a special campaign was conducted on the major highways of Kanpur city with the aim of maintaining road safety and smooth traffic system. First, these vehicles parked on the highway side were warned and then action was taken against them under the MV Act.

During the campaign, the vehicles parked unauthorized on the side of the highway were removed by the traffic inspectors and CC team in-charges of the respective zones and the drivers were made aware and instructed not to park their vehicles on the roadside, to use designated parking spaces, to install necessary safety indicators (reflectors, triangles, parking lights etc.) in case of vehicle breakdown and to strictly follow the traffic rules.

During this period, challan action was taken against 194 vehicles violating traffic rules as per the Motor Vehicles Act (MV Act). Traffic Police Kanpur city has appealed to the general public and drivers to follow traffic rules, not to park vehicles unnecessarily on the side of highways or main roads and to cooperate with the traffic police in maintaining smooth, safe and well-organized traffic system.
