After party candidate Sanchita Dey Pradhan withdrew her candidature on Friday ahead of the by-election on the high-profile Nandigram seat of West Bengal, former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has now announced her support to the Congress on that seat. Addressing a press conference in the evening at her Kalighat residence, Mamata said that her faction will support Congress candidate Milan Pradhan in Nandigram and will now not field any candidate from this seat.

Mamta told that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had called her on Thursday. Mamta expressed full solidarity towards the opposition INDIA Alliance and said that everyone will fight together. He also mentioned Arvind Kejriwal's tweet and said that everyone will fight together.
