Mamta’s big attack during voting in Bengal: She said – ‘Never seen such democracy, TMC workers are being tortured’

Kolkata. The political atmosphere has become very heated amid the voting for the second phase of West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026. Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has raised questions on the election process by making serious allegations against the central security forces.

Mamata Banerjee claimed that action had started against her supporters even before the voting and many workers were arrested. He alleged that even women and children were not spared and this was against the basic spirit of democracy.

“Never seen such an election before”-
The Chief Minister said, “I have been contesting elections since 1984, but have never seen such atrocities. At many places our agents were thrown out of the booths. Can this be called a fair election?” Referring to areas like Ranaghat, Kalyani, Arambag, Ghoghat and Canning, he accused the central forces of highhandedness.

Allegations made even after voting-
After voting, Mamata Banerjee said while talking to the media that the state police were not seen at many booths and the central forces took over the entire arrangement. He alleged that the security forces were being used to benefit a political party.

“TMC’s victory is certain”-
Amidst these allegations, Mamata Banerjee also expressed confidence of her victory. He said that Trinamool Congress will return to power with an overwhelming majority and the people are voting in the name of development.

At present, the second phase of voting is going on and now all eyes are on the results coming on May 4, which will decide in whose hands the power of Bengal will go.
