Maruti Suzuki has launched a highly updated and attractive model of its popular premium hatchback, 'Baleno' in the market. The starting ex-showroom price of this new car has been fixed at Rs 6.09 lakh. The five-seater gets a number of significant changes, including premium features like an all-new 1.2-litre Z-series petrol engine, segment-first 'Level 2 ADAS' technology, ventilated seats for front passengers and an active-cooled wireless charger. These changes in the new Baleno's exterior as well as the interior cabin make it more advanced.
Design and Features
The exterior design of the new Baleno has undergone significant changes. The front of the car now features a larger and elaborately sculpted grille, giving the car a very aggressive and attractive look. Although the shape of its headlights has been kept the same, the interior layout has been given a new makeover to make it more modern. Along with this, a new bumper design and updated lower air intake give the front of the car a raised look. While the side design of the car retains the original look of the hatchback, the new design alloy wheels give the car a sporty and sharp look. Also, at the rear of the car, subtle changes have been made around the tail lamps and the bumper which further enhances the beauty of the car.

Technical information
The biggest and most important technical highlight of this new Baleno is the new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z-series petrol engine. Maruti Suzuki has specially developed this engine to enhance the 'low-end torque', which we have already seen in the new Swift and Dzire models. This engine is offered to the customers in both manual and automatic transmission options. Additionally, the 'S-CNG' version will also be available for customers who are looking for more mileage and longer range, which will result in greater fuel savings.
Cabin interior
Once inside the car, the cabin experiences a number of premium changes. Most notably, ventilated front seats have been added, taking the Baleno one step further in the premium hatchback race. The dashboard is now completely driver-focused, with an advanced touchscreen infotainment system at its center. It is equipped with a premium sound system of the brand 'Clarion' to provide a better music experience. In addition, an 'actively cooled Qi-certified' wireless smartphone charger is provided in the center console. A special cooling technology has been used to prevent the phone from overheating while charging.

Safety features
Maruti Suzuki has taken a big step forward in terms of safety with this new Baleno. This car now has the advanced technology of 'Level 2 ADAS' (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). The system includes active driver assistance functions like 'Adaptive Cruise Control', 'Advanced Emergency Braking' and 'Lane Keep Assist'. The use of such advanced safety technologies was previously limited in the premium hatchback segment, so this ADAS package is a very significant and segment-first upgrade for the new Baleno.
