BSP President Mayawati took the decision after Siddharth's retirement.
Lucknow. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) President Mayawati on Thursday termed the decision of her nephew Akash Anand's father-in-law Ashok Siddharth to retire from politics as a 'better late than never' step and also announced to completely 'free' Akash from the party.
Shortly after the announcement on 'X' of Siddharth's retirement from politics, Mayawati in her post called it a 'late come, better come' step and said that if Siddharth had taken this decision much earlier, then BSP, Bahujan Samaj and Bahujan Andolan as well as her son-in-law Akash Anand would not have had to face continuous adverse circumstances.
However, Mayawati also said in the post that if Siddharth had the slightest concern about the bright future of his son-in-law Akash Anand as well as the BSP and the Bahujan movement, he would have announced his retirement from politics on Wednesday itself without any delay, but this not happening proves that Siddharth's intentions are flawed and his ambition has not diminished.
The BSP chief also raised questions on Akash not reposting his Wednesday post related to Siddharth and said that by not doing so, it seems that both Siddharth and Akash are less interested in the party and its movement and more interested in their personal and family relations.
Mayawati said that in such a situation, it is natural to raise the question that how can Akash do good to BSP and Bahujan movement by being 'double minded', hence the party people feel that it is better that just as Akash was freed from all the important responsibilities of the party including the post of National Convenor of the party on September 3, in the same way, he should be completely 'liberated' in the party from today onwards.
Although Mayawati did not announce the expulsion of Akash, she said, “If Akash Anand now wants to remain independent in the party, then he is free. That is, now he has been completely freed from the party.”
Mayawati had said in a post on Wednesday that if Siddharth is at all concerned about the political future of his son-in-law Akash Anand, then he should immediately retire from politics. Siddharth announced his retirement from politics and social life in a post on Thursday morning.
