Mecca Update: Rules for going to Hijr Ismail changed, now separate time fixed for men and women

The Saudi government has implemented new rules for pilgrims going to Hijr Ismail in Mecca’s Masjid Al-Haram. Now the timings for entry here have been fixed separately for men and women. Its purpose is to control the crowd and make people’s travel easier.

The General Authority, which looks after the affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, has announced this new schedule. According to the rules, men will be able to go to Hijr Ismail from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. At the same time, evening time has been fixed for women, they will be able to go here from 8:00 pm to 2:00 am.

The authority has also given some more important rules for the visit:

  • Time Limit: Every pilgrim will get a maximum of 10 minutes inside Hijr Ismail.
  • Entry Gate: To go inside, you will have to use the designated western gate.
  • Line location: Officially the queue or line will start at Al-Fath Gate (Gate No. 45), which is located on the southern side of the Haram complex.

This step has been taken so that order is maintained even during rush hour and everyone can easily get darshan. The authority has appealed to all pilgrims to follow the scheduled time and instructions so that the system runs smoothly. This time can also be changed further according to the crowd.
