The Day 11 figure indicates a significant slowdown in audience turnout as the film moved deeper into its second week.

Tamil Nadu leads Day 11 earnings

Tamil Nadu remained the biggest contributor to the film’s reported Day 11 gross collection.

The state contributed Rs 65 lakh, according to the report.

Karnataka added Rs 2 lakh, while Kerala contributed Rs 1 lakh.

The figures underline the importance of the Tamil market to the film’s theatrical performance, given its Tamil-language origin and its connection to the musical world explored in the story.

Meesaya Murukku 2 story and cast

Meesaya Murukku 2 is a Tamil musical drama directed by Hiphop Tamizha Adhi.

The film is described as a spiritual successor to the 2017 film Meesaya Murukku. The story explores three generations of musicians and their connection with Gaana music, a genre rooted in the streets and musical culture of Tamil Nadu.

The central character is Jeeva, a young singer who dreams of taking his street-rooted music to audiences around the world.

His journey is connected to the musical experiences and struggles of his father and grandfather. As Jeeva pursues his ambitions, he also has to confront challenges associated with his family’s musical journey.

The film combines its musical theme with a generational story, placing Jeeva’s ambitions at the centre of the narrative.

Hiphop Tamizha Adhi leads the film

Hiphop Tamizha Adhi plays Jeeva and other characters in the film.

Ketika Sharma makes her Tamil debut as Laila Singh. Chaithra J Achar, Ramya Ranganathan and Harshath Khan also appear in important roles.

The supporting cast includes Yogi Babu, Nassar, Baba Bhaskar, Karunas and Prakash Raj.

Adhi has composed the music and written the film, while Karan Karky and Nithish D have worked on the dialogues.

The film has been produced by Avni Movies and Benzz Media.

Film released on September 25

Meesaya Murukku 2 arrived in cinemas on September 25, 2026.

The film has a runtime of 140 minutes and builds on the musical identity established by its predecessor while expanding the story across multiple generations.

Its opening weekend provided a strong start, with the collection peaking at Rs 6.25 crore on Day 3.

The film then experienced a decline during the first week before registering stronger numbers at the beginning of its second week.

However, the steep drop on Day 11 suggests that the film’s theatrical momentum has weakened considerably after the second weekend.

What lies ahead for Meesaya Murukku 2

With Rs 31.70 crore in India net collections and Rs 43.21 crore in worldwide gross earnings, Meesaya Murukku 2 has crossed an important milestone in its theatrical run.

However, the Rs 60 lakh Day 11 collection represents a substantial decline from the Rs 2.25 crore recorded on Day 10.

The film’s second-week performance had provided some momentum, but sustaining collections on subsequent weekdays will now be crucial.

The film’s final theatrical total will depend on how much it can retain its audience in the remaining days of its run. For now, Meesaya Murukku 2 has established a worldwide gross of more than Rs 43 crore, even as its daily India collections show signs of a sharp slowdown.
