Tezzbuzz Desk- Meta has agreed to provide information on cases involving sexual exploitation of children to law enforcement agencies. According to government sources, this decision is an important step towards ensuring the safety of children online and increasing the accountability of digital platforms.
The Government of India has made it clear that there will be no compromise on the online safety of children. Along with Meta, other social media platforms are also under pressure to identify harmful content and take necessary steps to remove it.
Recently, a report claimed that AI-generated advertisements containing images related to sexual exploitation of children were run on Meta's platform. Some of these advertisements were also seen in India. After this, the government sent a notice to Meta and instructed to take action. The government is now preparing to take action against those platforms which do not take active steps to protect children.
