MG Hector Tomahawk EV Owner Explains Why He Bought It Over Mahindra XEV 9S And Kia Clavis EV

This detailed ownership review of the newly launched MG Hector Tomahawk EV has been shared on YouTube by Adizone on their channel. It starts off with the vlogger introducing the owner of this particular Hector Tomahawk EV. The owner mentions that he is a filmmaker by profession and he recently bought this SUV for his family and daily driving duties.

After introducing the owner, the first question which the vlogger asks him is about his decision to buy the MG Hector Tomahawk EV. To this, the owner replies that he was already an EV owner when he made the decision to buy this SUV. He then added that he was looking to upgrade from his Tata Nexon, which is four years old and has covered over 1.25 lakh km.

The owner then mentions that he looked at all the available options in the market, including the Tata Harrier.ev, Tata Sierra.ev, Kia Clavis EV, Mahindra XEV 9S and others. However, the space which he got in the Hector Tomahawk EV was unmatched. He added that as his family is small and has only three members, he did not opt for the seven-seater version. Instead, he bought the five-seater version and his decision has been amazing so far.

Moving ahead, he also highlighted that he did not buy any other EV in the market from Tata Motors or Mahindra because of the after-sales service quality. He explained that his Tata Nexon.ev’s battery was once scrapped and the cost of repair was Rs 50,000, which was paid by the insurance. Apart from it, he added that the after-sales service of Tata Motors and Indian car brands are not very satisfying. So he chose the MG Hector Tomahawk EV.

Following this, the vlogger asks the owner about the pricing of the MG Hector Tomahawk EV. To which the owner replies that he has paid Rs 25 lakh (on road), which includes a few accessories as well. Apart from this, he adds that he has paid Rs 1 lakh for paint protection film installation.

Moving ahead, the vlogger then starts showing the vehicle from the outside as well as the inside and asks the owner about his thoughts on the vehicle. After which, the owner mentions that he wanted an SUV which could give him good ground clearance and the Hector Tomahawk EV does that very well. He also highlights that on the inside, the quality of materials is top notch.

Additionally, the space offered by the vehicle in the front and middle row is amazing. In terms of features, it gets all the essential and creature comfort features. He explains that there is very less body roll while driving at high speeds and it is very confidence inspiring. The owner also mentions that MG has done an amazing job with the ergonomics as it now offers both touchscreen controls and physical buttons for automatic climate control and other functions.

The owner also talks about the range of the MG Hector Tomahawk EV. He mentions that so far he has mostly driven the vehicle in Delhi, but it has never offered him a range below 380 km. He added that according to his estimate, the highway will provide a range of around 400 to 425 km in a single full charge.

Talking about the downsides of the MG Hector Tomahawk EV, the owner mentions that the first thing which he dislikes is the noise that comes from the suspension after the vehicle is driven over a pothole. Additionally, the vehicle also comes with ADAS Level 2, which includes lane keeping assist. He explains that LKA has to be turned off every time the vehicle is started. And if not done, during a turn, the steering becomes very stiff. However, apart from these, the owner mentions that he is very happy with the purchase of the MG Hector Tomahawk EV.
