JSW MG Motor India has announced a price increase for its premium D-segment SUV, the MG Majestor. Launched in May 2026, this is the first price increase for the car. The company has increased the price of its Savvy 2WD (4×2) variant by ₹1.50 lakh. The 2WD variant now has a starting ex-showroom price of ₹42.49 lakh (previously ₹40.99 lakh).
New Prices and Variant-wise Changes
MG Motor has implemented this price revision only on its rear-wheel drive (2WD) model. The Savvy 2WD variant is available in both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations. The price of both variants has now increased to ₹42.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
The price of the company’s top-of-the-line model, the Savvy 4WD (4×4), remains unchanged. This variant will remain available for sale at ₹44.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This price revision reduces the price difference between the 2WD and 4WD models to just ₹2.50 lakh.
Savvy 2WD (7-seater AT): Old price ₹40.99 lakh | New price ₹42.49 lakh (Increase: ₹1.50 lakh)
Savvy 2WD (6-seater AT): Old price ₹40.99 lakh | New price ₹42.49 lakh (Increase: ₹1.50 lakh)
Savvy 4WD (7-seater AT): Old price ₹44.99 lakh | New price ₹44.99 lakh (no change)
Industry experts’ opinion
“After this price revision, the difference between the 2WD and 4WD variants has reduced to just ₹2.5 lakh. Therefore, customers with a budget of over ₹40 lakh can now opt directly for the 4WD variant for better off-roading hardware.”

Impact on buyers and car features
The company has not made any changes to the car’s features and mechanical specifications. The MG Majesty is powered by a 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engine that produces 212 bhp and 479 Nm of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Inside the cabin, features include dual 12.3-inch screens, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker JBL sound system, three-zone climate control, and Level 2 ADAS. In this segment, MG Majestor competes directly with premium SUVs like Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian.
