Miley Cyrus has opened up about her final conversation with her late godmother Dolly Parton.
The country icon left her fans and loved ones mourning after she died on August 25 at the age of 80 following what was described as a brief battle with cancer.
The Flowers singer recalled the last conversation she had with the late singer while speaking to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.
“The time that we talked, which was the last time we would talk, it was actually me telling her about this record,” she said.
The singer explained that despite the differences between herself and the late icon, their contrasting personalities were part of what made their relationship so special.
“Even though we are so different, that’s what made us so perfect for each other,” she said.
The Hannah Montana star also reflected on the authenticity she believes was at the heart of Parton’s appeal.
Dolly played Aunt Dolly on the Disney show, appearing as the fictional godmother of Miley Stewart and reflecting her real-life role as her godmother.
