‘Mirzapur The Movie’ earns ₹24.75 crore on opening day, crosses ₹68 crore in India

Fans of the popular Mirzapur franchise have been eagerly awaiting its big-screen debut, and Mirzapur The Movie has opened to an impressive response. The film, which brings the series’ familiar characters to cinemas alongside a few new faces, recorded a strong opening on Friday.

According to Sacnilk, Mirzapur The Movie collected ₹24.75 crore on its first day. The figure is particularly notable for a film led largely by character actors rather than traditional A-list stars.

Its opening collection also surpassed the first-day earnings of recent releases such as Saiyaara, which collected ₹22 crore, and Awarapan 2, which earned ₹21.50 crore.

The film continued its strong run on Saturday. As per Sacnilk, Mirzapur The Movie had earned ₹31 crore by 10 PM on its second day. The Hindi version remained the major contributor, accounting for ₹30.75 crore, while the Telugu-dubbed version added ₹0.25 crore.

With these figures, the film’s total India gross collection stood at ₹68.20 crore, while its India net collection reached ₹56.75 crore.

Presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment, Mirzapur The Movie is directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna. Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar have produced the film under the Excel Entertainment banner, with Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani serving as co-producers.

Pankaj Tripathi returns as Kaleen Bhaiya, while Ali Fazal reprises his role as Guddu Pandit and Divyenndu returns as Munna Tripathi. Rasika Dugal and Harshita Gaur are also back as Beena Tripathi and Dimpy Pandit, respectively.

The ensemble cast includes Shweta Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Sushant Singh and Mohit Malik, among others.
