Mistake in CBSE 12th result! Students asked for ‘grace marks’ regarding blurred copies

New Delhi: The anger of the students is increasing regarding the new on-screen marking i.e. OSM system of CBSE. After the 12th results, students across the country are alleging irregularities and technical flaws in the evaluation. Now when students under revaluation saw their scanned answer sheets, many new problems came to light. Students claim that the copies are blurry, many answers were not checked, there is a mistake in the step marking and there is also a discrepancy in the total.

Complaint about link not opening

According to media reports, many students even talked about difficulty in seeing the answer sheet. They allege that the link given by CBSE was either not opening or not working properly. Because of which he could not see his copy.

Students’ anger erupted on social media

As soon as the scanned copies became available, students flooded social media platform X with complaints. Students shared screenshots of blurry pages and asked how teachers could check properly when they themselves could not read what they had written.

Many answers left without checking

Some students also allege that their completely solved questions and calculations were left unchecked. Many students said that there is a difference between the numbers given on different pages and the total marks shown in the final result. In subjects like Maths, step marking was either completely ignored or applied incorrectly.

Students demanded grace marks

Amidst the ever increasing resentment, students are now demanding grace marks. He says that the board should give additional marks to compensate for the mistakes made in the system.

A user on X wrote that the copies have been scanned so poorly that we are not able to read them ourselves. Then how to expect proper checking from the teacher? CBSE should give 15 to 20 grace marks to the students and end this problem.

Another student wrote that first there was a mistake in digital checking, then the website crashed. The board exams of 2026 are injustice to the students. We demand from CBSE that at least 10 grace marks should be given in the subject with the lowest marks.

What is OSM system?

CBSE has started OSM system this year. In this, instead of checking the physical copy, the answer sheet is scanned and checked digitally on the screen. Ever since the results were declared, students of Physics, Maths, Accountancy and Economics started complaining about low marks and irregularities in marking.
