Modi Cabinet Decisions: Big stake of ₹39,300 crore in today’s meeting; Special fund created for aviation fuel, know what will be the benefit to you

A very important meeting of the Union Cabinet and the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) was held today (June 3) under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this meeting, big proposals worth about Rs 39,300 crore have been approved to strengthen the country’s infrastructure, curb pollution and provide relief to the general public. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told during the press conference that these decisions are mainly going to change the face of the country’s highways, urban transport and aviation sectors. Let us know what big benefits these cabinet decisions are going to bring to the general public and the country’s economy. 1. ₹10,000 crore special fund for aviation fuel Due to the ongoing conflict and tension in West Asia (Middle East), the prices of crude oil and aviation fuel (ATF) remain volatile in the international market. India’s aviation sector and air travelers were suffering direct losses due to this. To provide relief to domestic flights and passengers amid this global crisis, the government has made a big announcement of creating an ATF Price Stabilization Fund of Rs 10,000 crore. The main objective of this fund is to prevent fluctuations in aviation fuel prices and bring stability, so that the additional burden of air fares does not increase on common passengers. 2. ₹5,041 crore vehicle replacement scheme for Delhi-NCR To deal with the problem of pollution in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), the government has come up with a very practical and attractive scheme. The Cabinet has approved a Rs 5,041 crore scheme to phase out old trucks and buses plying in the areas of Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. This scheme has been designed in such a way that vehicle owners do not face any major financial problems in leaving their old vehicles and buying new and less polluting vehicles. You can easily understand the benefits under this scheme from the table given below: To implement this scheme, the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) will work jointly with the governments of the four states. 3. New coastal highway from Rameshwaram to Konark And towards strengthening the infrastructure gift to the states, the government has also approved a mega Coastal Highway Project worth Rs 8,301 crore. This new and modern highway will directly connect South India’s famous religious and tourist destination Rameshwaram with Konark and Paradip port of Odisha. With the completion of this project, business activities in the coastal states will gain momentum and tourism will also develop rapidly. Along with this, keeping in mind the development of other states of the country, the Cabinet has also given green signal to the construction and expansion of many new National Highway Projects in Bihar, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh, which will make connectivity in these states very easy.
