Jaipur: The monsoon has once again become active i Rajasthan. Several parts of the state, including Bharatpur, Bikaner, and Jaipur divisions, received good rainfall on Tuesday.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in 17 districts for Wednesday (August 5) and has predicted light to moderate rain with thundershowers.
According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain occurred at isolated places in western Rajasthan and at many places in eastern Rajasthan over the past 24 hours. Heavy rainfall was recorded in Deeg district. The highest rainfall of 66 mm was recorded in the Rarah area of Deeg district.
According to meteorologists, due to the effect of cyclonic circulation formed over eastern Rajasthan, there is a possibility of good rainfall in the north-eastern districts of the state for the next few days.
The department has also forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in some districts of Kota and Bharatpur divisions on August 7 and 8.
Hanumangarh, Bharatpur, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Alwar, Sriganganagar, Sikar, and areas around Jaipur received heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours. Several locations recorded up to two inches of rain.
Rain and strong winds brought relief from the humidity and heat in northeastern Rajasthan. Maximum temperatures dropped by around five degrees Celsius in Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Dausa, Pilani and Alwar.
Meanwhile, in western and southern Rajasthan, temperatures rose due to low rainfall and clear weather. On Tuesday, Dungarpur recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 38 degrees Celsius.
