New Delhi: The weather is going to take a turn once again in many parts of the country amid monsoon. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain and storm in 19 states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar. However, despite rain in Delhi-NCR, humidity can increase people's problems. Monsoon remains active due to the low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal.
There is a possibility of rain with thunder and strong winds in Delhi today. People are expected to get respite from the humid heat, but the weather is not likely to be completely pleasant. The maximum temperature in the capital can be around 34 degrees and the minimum can be 28 degrees. The effect of rain and storm can also be seen in Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Faridabad. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain at many places in Haryana.
Heavy rain in many districts of Uttar Pradesh
Heavy to very heavy rain is expected in eastern and western parts of Uttar Pradesh. There is an alert of rain and strong winds in many districts including Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, Agra, Mathura, Moradabad, Kanpur, Bareilly, Hardoi, Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Bijnor, Gonda, Basti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri and Pilibhit. The maximum temperature in Lucknow can be around 29 and minimum 27 degrees.
Rain and thunder in Bihar also
There is a possibility of lightning and thunder along with heavy rain in many districts of Bihar. Weather may remain bad in Gaya, Rohtas, Buxar, Bhojpur, Jehanabad, Munger, Banka, Jamui, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Kaimur, Nalanda, Nawada, Aurangabad, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Purnia, Araria, Kishanganj and Lakhisarai.
Alert in Bengal, Sikkim and North East also
Very heavy rain is expected in Gangetic West Bengal on August 17. There may be good rain in Sikkim also. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at many places in Assam and Meghalaya throughout the week, while rain may continue in Arunachal Pradesh also.
Danger of landslides may increase in Himachal
There is an alert of heavy to very heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh on 17th and 18th August. Due to continuous rain, the risk of landslides may increase in hilly areas. There is a possibility of heavy rain in the western Himalayan region also on most days of the week.
