Moradabad News: Rajeev Channa said – If BJP gives me ticket, I will contest 2027 assembly elections, know the speculations in SP also
Moradabad. Rajiv Channa, who became MLA by winning the election from Moradabad West Assembly Seat on BJP ticket in 2007, is going to enter the politics of Moradabad. The return of Channa, who had distanced himself from politics after the defeat in the Lok Sabha Elections 2009, can bring a big change in the political dynamics of Moradabad. Sources say that Rajiv Channa may join Samajwadi Party very soon. However, Rajiv Channa said while talking to a news portal that he is currently in BJP only.

Let us tell you that Rajiv Channa is considered very close to late liquor baron Ponty Chadha. It was on Ponty’s insistence that Rajiv Channa resigned from the MLA and left BJP in 2009. After this, he joined BSP and contested the MP election, but he had to face defeat from Mohammad Azharuddin, who contested the election on Congress ticket. Rajeev Channa stood third in this election.
In the Lok Sabha elections held at that time, Congress’s Mohammad Azharuddin had got 3,01,283 votes, BJP candidate late Kunwar Sarvesh Singh had got 2,52,176 votes and Rajiv Channa, who contested from BSP, had got 1,47,594 votes. In fact, Ponty Chadha, who was very close to the BSP supremo at that time, was overconfident that he would take Ponty to victory. That is why within 2 years of becoming MLA, he made Rajiv Channa resign from BJP and after joining BSP, he also got Lok Sabha ticket.
After this defeat, Rajiv Channa again joined BJP in 2010. But during this interval, new leaders had filled Channa’s place within the party. Channa never again got the same importance in BJP that he had got in 2007 and before. Pushed to the margins, Channa himself distanced himself from politics. He has not been in active politics since 2010. He has been camping in Bhawali, Uttarakhand for more than 7 years. But just before the 2027 elections, Rajiv Channa has struck again.
Rajiv Channa said that I want to contest elections in 2027. If BJP gives me a ticket, I will definitely contest the elections. I am currently in BJP and I have no intention of leaving the party. But it is clear that I am preparing to try my luck this time in the 2027 elections.

Channa’s clapping will change political equations
There can be a big upheaval in the political equations in Moradabad due to the clapping of Rajiv Channa. Of course, Channa is currently refusing to join SP, but our sources tell us that SP wants to field Rajeev Channa from Moradabad city seat. Sources say that the message has reached the SP high command through a Rajya Sabha member of SP. Claims are being made about Channa joining SP in the coming two to three days. However, Rajiv Channa himself is denying this.
They put a condition that either BJP should give them the ticket or they will see their future from another party.
Sources say that BJP leaders have also held several meetings with Channa to convince him. Rajeev Channa is being advised to stay away from politics and put his son forward. Sources say that a BJP leader has also promised to get Rajiv Channa’s son a post in BJP, but sources say that Rajiv Channa is adamant on contesting the elections. He has put a condition that either BJP should give him the ticket or he will see his future from another party.
