Mukhya Mantri Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana: More than 75 lakh women registered, target to cover one crore women: CM Mann

Describing every mother and sister of Punjab as the brand ambassador of 'Maawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana', Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann termed this initiative as the first social revolution of its kind, which is strengthening the dignity and financial self-reliance of women. He said that with more than 75 lakh women already registered and Rs 3,824.87 crore as Samman Rashi transferred directly into their bank accounts, the scheme is ushering in a new era of respect and financial empowerment of women across Punjab.

The occasion became emotional when the beneficiary of this scheme, Gurmail Kaur alias Melo, reached the Chief Minister's residence and met Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. As soon as he saw the Chief Minister, he hugged him and blessed him. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann presented him gifts as a symbol of love and respect. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that his soul got solace after meeting Bibi Gurmel Kaur and prayed that Waheguru should always keep a smile on Bibi Gurmel Kaur's face.

Confidence of mothers and daughters increased

On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Every mother and sister of Punjab is the brand ambassador of 'Mawaan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana'. This scheme is a social revolution, which will increase the confidence and self-esteem of our mothers and daughters.” The Chief Minister honored Bibi Gurmail Kaur (Mello) of village Adampura, who was much talked about on social media after the launch of this scheme. While talking to her, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that his soul got peace after meeting Bibi Gurmail Kaur. He said, “My soul has found solace after meeting you. I pray that Waheguru always keeps a smile on your face. Your son is committed to serve Punjab and will leave no stone unturned for this noble cause.”

Heartily thanking the mothers and sisters of Punjab for making the scheme a huge success, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “I wholeheartedly thank all the mothers and sisters of Punjab who have made the 'Mawaan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana' a huge success. Till now, Rs 3,824.87 crore has been transferred directly into the bank accounts of the women as Samman Rashi. This is an important step towards the financial independence of women. Nearly 97 percent of Punjab's Women are eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme. Our aim is to provide the benefit of Samman Rashi to one crore women.”

More than 75 lakh women registered

He said, “This is the first scheme of its kind in the country, under which honorarium is being given to all the eligible beneficiary women. Keeping the honor of women at the center, the Punjab government has started 'Mavan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana'.” Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “So far, more than 75 lakh women have been registered and their prescribed financial assistance has been deposited directly into their bank accounts. I appeal to all the remaining eligible women to get themselves registered and avail the benefits of this scheme. Every woman above 18 years of age is now receiving messages on her mobile phone regarding financial assistance of Rs 1,000 and SC category women Rs 1,500.”

Expectation of benefit from the scheme

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “About 97 percent of the women of Punjab are expected to get the benefits of this scheme and the state government has kept Rs 9,300 crore in the budget for it. This amount is being transferred directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.” The Chief Minister stressed, “This financial assistance may not make women rich, but it will definitely give them self-respect. Women deserve respect because they are the source of life itself. The blessings of our mothers and sisters can help us overcome every challenge in the world.”

He said, “It is extremely important to strengthen the financial independence of women to promote gender equality and increase their participation in social and economic decision making. The Punjab government is committed to the welfare and empowerment of women and will leave no stone unturned for this.”

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann clearly said that no eligible beneficiary woman will be deprived of the benefits of this scheme. He said, “As long as I am holding the responsibility of the post, no eligible beneficiary woman will be deprived of the benefits of ‘Mavan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana’.
