Ingredients to make Jaggery Puri
- Jaggery- 1 cup
- Water- half glass
- Ghee- 1 spoon
- Wheat flour- 2 cups
- Fennel – half teaspoon
- Oil or desi ghee for frying
How to make Jaggery Puri
- First of all, break the jaggery with your hands and cut it into small pieces or break them with the help of a rolling pin.
- Now prepare lukewarm water in a pan and add jaggery in it. After this let it dissolve well.
- Now take wheat flour in a vessel and add some fennel seeds and some ghee to it and mix it. Now knead it with the help of jaggery water. The dough of puris should neither be too soft nor too hard.
- Keep the kneaded dough covered for about 15 minutes. By doing this the puris will be rolled easily.
- Now make small balls of dough and roll them lightly.
- Puris that are too thin will lack taste and will not be fried properly.
- Heat ghee or oil in a pan and add puris one by one.
- Lower the flame and fry the puris until they turn golden on both sides.
- Actually, the color of these puris turns brown quickly due to jaggery, hence they should be fried on low flame only.
