National Film Awards 2026: ‘Article 370’ becomes Best Feature Film, Yami Gautam Best Actress; Best Actor Award for Kartik Aryan and Mammootty

New Delhi. National Film Awards 2026 (72nd National Film Awards) have been announced. This time, the awards announced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting saw a stellar performance from both Bollywood and South Indian cinema. Many popular artists and films were honored, giving prominence to content based films and strong acting.

‘Article 370’ became the best feature film

This year ‘Article 370’ achieved the biggest honor by winning the Best Feature Film award. Yami Gautam was chosen Best Actress for her impressive performance in the film.

Karthik Aryan and Mammootty jointly became best actors

The Best Actor award was given jointly to two actors. Mammootty was honored for his outstanding performance in the film ‘Bhramayugam’ and Kartik Aryan was honored for his outstanding performance in ‘Chandu Champion’.

Randeep Hooda received honor for direction

The film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ directed by actor Randeep Hooda received the Best Debut Film of a Director award. At the same time, Prabhas starrer Telugu film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ was given the award of Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

‘Srikanth’ became the best Hindi film

‘Srikanth’ starring Rajkumar Rao was chosen as the Best Hindi Film. This time, content-based and impactful films were given special priority in the National Awards.
