New PN Scheme Today: With the beginning of the month of October, there have been many major changes in the country. Meanwhile, the PNG Drive 3.0 campaign is being launched by the government. Under this scheme, it is targeted to rapidly increase Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections across the country.
The government aims for around 20,000 new PNG connections or LPG to PNG conversions per day. The campaign seeks to promote the availability of PNG gas through pipelines by reducing the use of LPG in the domestic and commercial sectors.
Shifting from LPG to PNG will gain momentum
PNG Drive 3.0 will try to speed up the migration of people from LPG to PNG. The government wants to connect more households and businesses to PNG by expanding pipeline gas infrastructure in different areas of the country.
Currently there are reports of more than 10,000 connections or conversions happening daily. Now the target is to increase this number to 20,000 per day.
Identification of 80 new areas
80 new Geographical Areas (GA) have been identified by PNGRB for expansion of PNG connectivity. New connections and LPG to PNG conversion will be promoted by developing pipeline gas infrastructure in these areas.
A new portal is also being prepared for the convenience of customers. This portal is an attempt to provide facilities like filing complaint apart from applying for PNG connection from a single place.
What are the benefits of PNG connection?
After getting PNG connection, customers do not need to book LPG cylinders. Gas is continuously supplied to the house through the pipeline.
Main advantages of PNG:
- Relief from the hassle of booking LPG cylinders every month
- Continuous supply of gas is available
- There is no problem of suddenly running out of cylinders
- Saves space to keep LPG cylinders in the kitchen
- Bill can be paid according to consumption through gas meter
- Pipes and meters are arranged for gas supply in the kitchen
The more gas you use, the more you bill
The peculiarity of PNG is that consumers are billed according to consumption by the meter. That is, depending on how much PNG gas is used, the bill has to be paid.
The main objective of launching PNG Drive 3.0 by the government is to expand the piped gas network in the country and connect more households and businesses to PNG.
