Nationwide movement of Congress on NEET and CBSE exam controversy, announcement of candle march and Satyagraha in every district on 25th July.

Tezzbuzz Desk- Congress has announced a major agitation across the country in protest against the alleged irregularities related to NEET and CBSE examinations and police action against the protesting students. The party has directed all its State Congress Committees (PCC) and District Congress Committees (DCC) to organize candle marches and Satyagraha in each district on Saturday evening, July 25. The aim of this campaign is to express solidarity with the students and youth and to raise voice against the alleged irregularities in the examination system.

Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal has issued a letter to all the state Congress presidents saying that this program will be organized on the instructions of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. He has asked the party organization to ensure wide participation at the district level so that the issues of students and youth can be raised strongly at the national level.

As per party instructions, the candle march will start from prominent places in the district and reach the statue of Mahatma Gandhi or Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. After this, Satyagraha will be organized there. Congress says that this program is being done with the aim of protecting the future of the students, fair examination system and registering protest in a democratic manner.

The Congress has appealed to all its organizational units—State, District and Block Congress Committees, frontal organizations, departments and cells—to actively participate in this movement. The party has also called upon students, youth, parents and civil society people to join the campaign.

The party has instructed its workers to raise the demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on a priority basis. The Congress alleges that the government has failed to maintain the credibility of the examination system and could not ensure the future security of the students. The party says that the controversies related to the examination have increased the concerns of lakhs of students and their families, for which it is necessary to fix accountability.

Congress has also criticized police action during recent student protests. The party says that the alleged use of force against peaceful protesting students is against democratic values ​​and there should be an impartial investigation. Candle marches and Satyagraha are being organized across the country on this issue, so that the message of solidarity with the students can be given.

Meanwhile, protests are continuing in many parts of the country over paper leaks and examination reforms. Various student organizations and opposition parties are also demanding transparency in the examination system, strict action against the culprits and accountability. Congress says that its campaign is an effort to strongly raise the demand of students’ rights and fair examination system at the national level.

This nationwide movement proposed on July 25 is being considered a continuation of the recent student-centric campaigns of the Congress. The party claims that through candle marches and Satyagraha organized in a democratic manner, the voice of the students will be conveyed to the government and the demand for reform in the examination system will be further intensified.
