This havoc of nature is not stopping and the Meteorological Department has today issued yellow and orange alert of torrential rain in 7 major districts of the state.

After this latest warning from the Meteorological Department, the state administration has become completely alert. Let us first know about those 7 districts where warning of heavy rain has been issued today:
Shimla and Solan
Sirmaur and Mandi
Kangra and Chamba
Bilaspur
Heavy rains with strong winds have been predicted in all these districts. The danger of cloud burst and sudden flash flood is constantly looming over the mountains.

Due to continuous rains, incidents of landslides in the mountains have increased rapidly. Roads have been completely closed at many places due to heavy debris falling. According to the latest government data, more than 200 small and big roads and many main national highways have been closed due to landslides, resulting in long queues of vehicles.
Electricity and water crisis: Many areas have been plunged into darkness due to the failure of dozens of transformers. At the same time, a huge crisis has arisen due to breakage of drinking water pipeline in hundreds of villages.
Loss of more than Rs 1200 crore: Government property, roads, bridges and people's houses have been damaged due to rain and landslides. According to initial estimates, there has been a loss of more than Rs 1200 crore so far.
Rivers in spate, administration issues strict warning Due to rain, major rivers like Beas, Sutlej and Ravi as well as all the local drains are in spate. The water level has reached very close to the danger mark. Considering the seriousness of the situation, the local administration has issued advisories for tourists and the general public. Avoid traveling on mountain roads, as there is a danger of sudden rock falls. Wherever tourists are present, stay at safe places for now and wait for the weather to clear.
The Meteorological Department says that there is very little chance of getting relief from rain in the next two to three days. Therefore, unless absolutely necessary, avoid travelling, stay safe and follow the instructions of the local administration.
