Navratri Food Recipes: Shardiya Navratri is starting from Sunday. You will also definitely keep a fast during this period. During the fast, you should eat fruits which are nutritious as well as tasty. That is why this time we are telling you some new recipes of tasty and nutritious fruits.
1. Shrikhand of fruits
Material: Curd – 1 kg, powdered sugar – one and a half bowl, milk – 2 tablespoons, saffron – 10-15 strands, cardamom – 7-8 crushed, chopped favorite seasonal fruits – 1-2 cups, pomegranate – 1 cup for garnishing, piping bag – 1
Method
- Tie the curd in a cotton cloth and hang it for 5-6 hours. With this the curd chakka will be ready. Take out the hung curd in a bowl.
- Add powdered sugar into it and beat well for 5-7 minutes. Add crushed cardamom and saffron to it. If the mixture seems too thick then you can add some milk.
- Fill the prepared Shrikhand in a piping bag. Cut favorite seasonal fruits into small pieces.
- Now apply a layer of Shrikhand and fruits in the glass. Place a layer of Shrikhand on the top and garnish with pomegranate seeds and serve.
2. Water chestnut-rajgira pancakes
Material: Water chestnut flour-1 cup, Rajgira flour-1 cup, Boiled potato-1 medium sized, Chopped green chillies-2-3, Curd-2 teaspoons, Green coriander-as required, Rock salt-as per taste, Black pepper powder-1 teaspoon, Ghee-for baking.
Method
- In a bowl, add water chestnut flour, Rajgira flour, mashed potatoes, green chillies, curd, green coriander, rock salt and black pepper powder.
- Knead a soft dough with the help of some water. Add some ghee in hot pan. Take the dough ball, give it a light round shape and place it on the pan.
- Bake until golden on both sides. Serve it with fruit curd or coconut chutney.
3. Sweet Potato Balls
Material: Sweet potatoes – 2 medium sized, roasted makhana powder – 1/2 cup, hung curd – 1/2 cup, Rajgira flour – 1 tbsp, roasted cumin powder – 1/2 tsp, red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp, lemon juice – 1 tbsp, chopped green chilli – 1/2 tsp, finely chopped coriander – 2 tsp, oil – for frying, rock salt – as per taste, for coating Sesame seeds – 1 tablespoon
Method
- Boil the sweet potatoes and cool them. In a bowl, add sweet potatoes, Rajgira flour, makhana powder, hung curd and all the spices and mix well.
- Make lemon sized balls from the mixture and coat them in sesame seeds. Heat oil in a pan and fry the balls until they turn golden.
- Serve hot sweet potato balls with coconut chutney.
4. Stuffed Sabudana Vada
Material: Boiled potatoes – 4 medium sized, soaked sago – 1-2 cups, chopped green chillies – 2-3, lemon juice – 1 tsp, coarsely ground peanuts – 1/2 cup, green coriander – as required, rock salt – as per taste, black pepper powder – 1/2 tsp, oil – for frying.
for filling :Hung curd-5 tbsp, cumin powder-1/2 tsp, rock salt-as per taste

Method
- Mash the boiled potatoes well. Add sago, green chilli, green coriander, rock salt, black pepper powder, lemon juice and peanuts and mix well.
- Prepare the filling by mixing hung curd, cumin powder and rock salt in a separate bowl. Take a ball of potato-sago mixture and flatten it. Place a teaspoon of filling in the center and close the vada.
- Prepare all the vadas in the same manner. Fry them in hot oil until they become golden and crisp. Serve with coconut chutney.
5. Paneer-Banana Rolls
Material: Paneer – 200 grams, finely chopped green chillies – 3, rock salt – as per taste, black pepper – 1/4 tsp, green coriander – as required, raw banana – 1-2, cloves – 8-10, oil – 2 tbsp.
For salad: Grated cucumber-2, sesame seeds-1/2 tsp, black pepper powder-1/4 tsp, rock salt-as per taste
Method
- Peel the raw banana and cut it into long slices. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan, shallow fry the banana slices and keep aside.
- Grate the cheese and add green chillies, green coriander, rock salt and black pepper to it.
- Make small balls of paneer, wrap them with banana slices and secure the roll by inserting a clove. Heat the remaining oil in the pan and shallow fry the rolls until they turn golden on both sides.
- For salad, add sesame seeds, black pepper powder and rock salt to grated cucumber. Serve Paneer-Banana Rolls with Cucumber Salad.
6. Falahari Makhana Chaat
Material: Makhana-2 cups, boiled potato-1 medium sized, cucumber-1, tomato 1, pomegranate seeds-1/2 cup, green chilli-1 finely chopped, green coriander-2 tbsp, roasted cumin powder-1/2 tsp, black pepper powder-1/2 tsp, rock salt-as per taste, lemon juice-1 tbsp, roasted and coarsely ground Peanuts-1/2 cup

Method
- Fry the makhanas in a dry pan on low flame until they become crisp. When they cool down, break them slightly. Cut boiled potatoes and cucumber into small pieces.
- In a large bowl, add makhana, potatoes, cucumber, pomegranate seeds, green chillies and green coriander. Add roasted cumin powder, black pepper, rock salt and roasted peanuts to it.
- Finally add lemon juice, mix well and serve immediately.
