NDMC Chairman Manoj Kumar Dwivedi has expressed regret over the waterlogging in many areas after heavy rains on August 25 in the NDMC area. This is the first time in the administrative history of Delhi when such a senior officer has openly apologized for the inconvenience caused to the general public due to waterlogging.

Chairman Manoj Dwivedi wrote on social media He said that the system will be strengthened.

He said that under normal circumstances, NDMC is able to remove waterlogging in 15 to 20 minutes, but this time due to excessive rainfall in a short period of time, it took more than an hour to remove water at three-four places.

Dwivedi further said that the civic body will take several short-term and long-term measures to make the entire NDMC area 'completely waterlogging free'. He also sought suggestions for improvements from the public and said that the administration will work to ensure that citizens do not face any such inconvenience in future.
