The arrest came after a video went viral in which two men were seen taking out gold earrings from the body of a woman who was washed away in the floods. Dead body pulled out of water by hair

Later, Nepal Police shared this 41-second video and said that these two people have been detained for stealing earrings from the dead woman's ears. In the video clip, it can be seen that these people are using wooden planks and the woman's hair to pull her body out of the water and then remove the earrings from both her ears and keep them aside, while many people are standing nearby and making videos.

Both accused arrested

Later, Chitwan police said that investigation revealed that the incident was related to the dead body which had washed away in the Narayani river due to heavy floods. Based on the video, police identified 25-year-old Madan Gurung and 38-year-old Umesh Chaudhary. Nepali media portal 'KhabarHub' quoting the police said that on Thursday these two suspects were arrested near Pokhara Bus Park in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-1. The police stressed that in these difficult times, looting or any kind of inhuman behavior towards the victims will not be tolerated.
