This problem occurs occasionally in some people, while some people have to face it again and again. Possible reasons for this may include lack of water in the body, staying in one position for a long time and deficiency of some nutrients.
1. Banana
Along with potassium, nutrients like magnesium are also found in banana. It can be made a part of a balanced diet. However, eating bananas alone cannot be considered a cure for frequent cramps.
2. Curd
Curd is a good source of calcium and protein. Calcium plays an important role in the normal functioning of muscles. Taking appropriate amount of curd or other dairy products daily can be beneficial.
3. Spinach
Many essential nutrients including magnesium are found in green leafy vegetables like spinach. By including these in regular diet, the body can get the necessary nutrition.
4. Dry fruits and seeds
Almonds, cashews, pumpkin seeds and other nuts-seeds contain nutrients like magnesium. These can be taken as a snack in limited quantities. Eating too much can increase calories, so balance is important.
5. Foods containing water and electrolytes
Drinking enough water is also very important. The problem of muscle cramps can increase due to heat, excessive sweating or lack of fluids in the body after physical exertion. Including fruits and vegetables in a balanced diet along with water may be helpful.
