Aditya Thackeray reacted for the first time after his name cropped up in the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput's former manager Disha Salian. He said that he has never met Disha and does not even know Disha Salian.
On June 8, 2020, Disha Salian died under suspicious circumstances in Malad area of Mumbai. Then the claim of death was made due to falling from the 14th floor. About six days later, on June 14, 2020, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his flat in Bandra. The mystery of his death has not been revealed till date.

On September 14 itself, CBI registered a case in Disha Salian death case. MLA Aditya Thackeray, actors Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi and Rhea Chakraborty are under investigation. Meanwhile, Aditya Thackeray accused some people of tarnishing his image with political intentions.
Disha Salian's father Satish Salian had filed a petition in the Bombay High Court. In this he had accused him of negligence in the case of his daughter's death. On September 2, the investigation was handed over to CBI on the orders of the High Court. The central agency has registered a case under sections related to gang rape, murder, criminal conspiracy, destruction of evidence and giving false information.
'Deliberate attempt at character assassination'
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray wrote on his X account, 'Let us once again move away from the noise and talk about facts. I have never met Disha Salian nor knew her. For almost six years, some people with political and personal intentions have been continuously linking my name to this tragic case. This is a deliberate attempt at character assassination without any evidence.

Aditya further wrote, 'The official re-investigation should be allowed to proceed without being distracted by the propaganda and character assassination being done with political intentions. Once again, I want to say to those few people who think that such malicious efforts for political gain will stop us from fighting for the truth and for our fellow citizens, that their strategy has failed. We will always stand by the truth and fight for it.
