But now Meta has decided to tear down this closed wall and transform WhatsApp into an open AI ecosystem. According to the latest report by WABetaInfo, a famous tech website that tracks the upcoming features of WhatsApp, WhatsApp is testing a new 'Third-Party AI Agents' support feature in Android beta version 2.26.35.3. As soon as this feature is implemented, millions of users will get the freedom to talk directly in WhatsApp chat with Google's Gemini, OpenAI's ChatGPT or customized AI agents created by independent developers. This means that now users will not need to switch to any external app or website to use different AI models, but their favorite AI tool will be available just like a normal WhatsApp chat.
This new architecture being prepared by WhatsApp has been made completely user-friendly and organized. According to information revealed through leaks and beta testing, there is a new dedicated section within the main 'Settings' menu of WhatsApp. “Agents” Section is being added. By going to this section, users will be able to connect external AI bots to their WhatsApp account as per their choice and need. WhatsApp initially limited the maximum limit for each account. 5 Third-Party AI Agents A limit has been set on linking together. The biggest feature of these five agents will be that they will not be hidden inside any confusing menu, rather as soon as you connect an agent, a completely separate and independent chat window will be created with the name of that agent in your main chat list.
