New Delhi. The new police post has been established with the aim of strengthening the police presence in Sangam Vihar and surrounding densely populated areas, to prevent crime and to provide quick police assistance to the people. On September 23, Delhi Police's Special Commissioner (Law and Order), Zone-1 Devesh Chandra Srivastava inaugurated the new police post Sangam Vihar. On this occasion, senior officers of Delhi Police and North District, police personnel, RWA representatives and local people were present.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime and Railways) Madhur Verma welcomed the people present in the program. He stressed the need to strengthen accessible and people-centric policing at the local level. The post in-charge gave information about the main objectives related to the jurisdiction, functioning and operation of the police post. During the program, public safety, traffic management, police patrolling, surveillance and other problems related to the area were discussed with the local representatives.
According to the police, the opening of the new outpost will strengthen the regular patrolling and monitoring system in Sangam Vihar and surrounding areas. Special attention will be paid to prevention and investigation of vehicle theft, house theft, robbery, snatching and other road crimes. Along with increasing the local presence of police through the outpost, efforts will be made to reduce the response time in emergency situations.
This will also ease the reach of police assistance in the area. Police officials assured the local community of necessary cooperation and prompt response in matters related to public safety. According to officials, the objective of the post is to establish better coordination between the police and the common people and promote community participation for a safe environment in the area.
