New railway line will be laid in Bihar, great news for these districts

Patna. In view of the increasing number of rail passengers in Bihar and the increasing pressure on the existing rail network, Railways is working towards strengthening the infrastructure. There are plans to develop new rail lines at several levels to improve the operation of trains in Patna and surrounding rail areas. Information has come to light that about Rs 1323 crore will be spent on the proposed projects.

This scheme will be taken forward in a phased manner. After construction of new and additional railway tracks, additional capacity will be created for operating trains on existing railway routes. It is expected to directly benefit the passengers traveling from Patna and surrounding areas.

Rail capacity will increase from Bakhtiyarpur to Fatuha

In the initial phase of the project, there is a plan to develop about 24 kilometers of new railway line between Bakhtiyarpur and Fatuha. The estimated cost for this work has been said to be around Rs 931 crore. The movement of trains on this railway section is already quite high. With the availability of additional lines, Railways will get new options for operating trains and dependence on existing tracks will be reduced. About 6.6 hectares of land is required for the project. Approval related to its acquisition has also been received at the railway level.

New line will also be built between Bakhtiyarpur-Punarakh

In the second phase, rail connectivity between Bakhtiyarpur and Punarakh will be strengthened. About 30 kilometer long railway line is proposed in this part. It is estimated that around Rs 392 crore will be spent on its construction. There is information that the Railway Board has approved the necessary land acquisition for this part. After the construction of the new line, it can help in streamlining the operation of trains on the Patna-Howrah main railway route.

Track network will increase from Rajendra Nagar to Patna Sahib

In the third phase of the project, emphasis will be on providing additional tracks on important railway routes of Patna city. Under this, there is a plan to increase the rail capacity from Rajendra Nagar Terminal to Patna Sahib. Along with this, there is a proposal to develop the third and fourth lines between Danapur and Patna Junction. Further, plans have been made to prepare the third line between Rajendra Nagar Terminal to Patna Sahib and the third and fourth lines between Patna Sahib to Fatuha. With this, additional track will be available for movement of trains between major railway stations of Patna.
