Upcoming SUV: Nissan showcased its new Terrano PHEV during the Beijing Auto Show in April. Now before the launch, this SUV has been seen during road testing, due to which many important information related to its design and features has come to light. The Nissan Terrano PHEV is expected to be launched in China as early as 2027. After this there is a possibility of exporting it to the global market.
exterior design
The SUV spotted during testing is believed to be the production version of the Terrano PHEV. Its exterior design looks quite similar to the concept model. However, some of the special off-roading features given in the concept were not visible in the test mule.
It does not have bonnet-mounted fog lamps, roof lights, full-length platform rack and off-road tyres. The test model featured alloy wheels with a simple design, while the concept model was fitted with more powerful alloy wheels.
Pixel-style big and long lights are provided in the front. It comes with a thin closed grille and a large bumper, which has skid plate and underbody protection.
Strong look in design
The design of Nissan Terrano has been kept straight and sharp. It has a clamshell bonnet, flared wheel arches, body cladding, large wheels and body-coloured door handles. Apart from this, square ORVMs and strong roof rails give a strong look to the SUV.
All the pillars have been blacked-out to give a floating roof effect. It is also expected to have features like 360-degree camera setup.
Interior and Features
Dual-tone tan and gray color theme is seen in the cabin of Terrano PHEV. Leatherette treatment has been given on the seats, doors and dashboard, which gives a premium look to the cabin.
The SUV has a flat center console. It has a toggle switch panel with electronic gear selector, rotary drive mode controller and terrain select dial. Apart from this, electronic parking brake and cup holders are also provided with auto hold.
The Nissan Terrano PHEV is expected to be introduced in the production version with a more practical design and features compared to the concept. After its launch in China, the possibility of its reaching other markets will also be monitored.
