KNews Desk: After the rally of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, the political controversy regarding the alleged 'purification' conducted at Ramlila Maidan has once again heated up. In this matter, Kharge has written a letter to the leader of the House in Rajya Sabha, JP Nadda, expressing concern over the delay in action. Kharge said in his letter that 24 days have passed since the incident, but till now the First Information Report i.e. FIR has not been registered against the concerned persons and organizations.
Reminded of Nadda's assurance
Kharge also mentioned in the letter the assurance given by JP Nadda in the Rajya Sabha. He said that when he raised the issue in the House, Nadda had assured an inquiry into the incident and strict action against those found guilty. According to Kharge, Nadda had described this incident in the House as tragic and said that BJP does not support such activities. He also assured that the matter will be investigated and action will be taken against the culprits.
'No FIR even after 24 days'
Kharge said that he is surprised that even after 24 days of the incident, no FIR has been registered against the people and organizations involved in the alleged purification. He has demanded immediate intervention from Nadda in this matter. The Congress President said in his letter that this matter is not just a personal issue related to him or the post of Congress President, but is broadly related to the feelings of crores of people. He stressed the need for action against those responsible.
Demand to give instructions to the Chief Minister
Kharge urged JP Nadda to give necessary instructions to the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, so that an FIR is registered against the individuals and organizations involved in the alleged 'cleansing' that took place after his public meeting at Ramlila Maidan in Haldwani. He said that as per the assurance given in Rajya Sabha, action should be taken soon in this matter. Now after Kharge's letter, eyes have once again been focused on the action of the police and administration in this entire matter.
