Tension between America and Iran regarding the strategically important Strait of Hormuz has once again reached its peak. Iran has hit back fiercely after US President Donald Trump described Hormuz and its surrounding areas as “American territory” and claimed complete US control over them. Iran has warned America in a stern tone that its military is fully prepared to give a crushing and painful response to any new threat from the enemy.
This war of words has intensified at a time when US President Donald Trump had said on Friday that Washington now has complete control over this important maritime waterway and its adjacent land areas. After this claim of Trump, Tehran got angry and took an aggressive stance against America.
Clash between America and Iran regarding Hormuz
Immediately after US President Trump's statement, Major General Ali Abdullahi, Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces, issued a strong statement. He said that the Iranian military is fully prepared and alert in land, sea, air, air defense and cyber space. Along with this, he announced to give a befitting reply to any new challenge from America.
Let us tell you that this statement has come in such an environment when global crude oil prices are increasing rapidly due to disruption in the movement of commercial ships in Hormuz. Along with this, the Iranian defense leadership made it clear that Tehran is fully capable of facing American action on multiple fronts simultaneously and giving a strong response to it.
Iran will give a painful answer to the enemy
Major General Ali Abdullahi underlined the preparedness of his military and reiterated that the Iranian armed forces are ready in every domain – land, sea, air and cyber space. He said that the Iranian military will give a crushing and extremely painful response to the new threats of the enemy.
However, he admitted that Iran's economy and conventional military capabilities have suffered huge losses due to the ongoing conflict and military standoff over the past six months, but despite this, Iran's missile and drone capabilities are completely safe and in operational condition.
Trump claimed control over Hormuz
Earlier, US President Donald Trump had created an international sensation by making a big claim regarding the Strait of Hormuz. During a conversation with reporters, Trump said that he currently sees Hormuz as an “American territory”.
Trump asserted that Washington has established complete control over the Strait of Hormuz and all associated land areas. He also said that although Iran wants to reach a deal to end the conflict, it does not yet appear ready to make a “real deal” on America's terms.
Iran cannot be allowed to have nuclear weapons
Addressing a massive election rally held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, President Trump once again reiterated that Iran cannot be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons at any cost.
In a warning tone, Trump said that if Iran succeeds in acquiring nuclear weapons, it will have very dangerous and bad consequences for the entire world. Trump claimed that the US has moved forward and completely halted Iran's nuclear efforts and that Tehran will never have nuclear weapons.
America imposed strict economic sanctions on Iran
Meanwhile, America has also formally announced the imposition of the toughest economic sanctions ever on Iran. US Finance Minister Scott Besant informed that on Monday he will release a detailed outline of new and tougher financial sanctions against Iran.
Besant said that America had already imposed a naval blockade and was now about to launch the most devastating economic sanctions campaign in history. He clarified that the main objective of this economic campaign is to topple the current leadership and regime of Iran. Along with this, President Trump has issued a warning to all the countries of the world that any country which provides any kind of financial or business assistance to Iran will have to suffer very serious economic consequences.
