‘No PUC, No Fuel’ rule now implemented in Delhi, big decision of CM Rekha Gupta
The state government has announced to take an important and strict step to control the increasing air pollution in Delhi. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that now petrol or diesel will not be given in the capital to such vehicles which do not have a valid ‘Pollution Under Control’ (PUC) certificate. This rule will be compulsorily implemented at all petrol pumps, so that polluting vehicles can be effectively banned.
What is the major reason for Delhi’s pollution?
The government believes that smoke emitted from vehicles is a major cause of Delhi’s pollution. In such a situation, not providing fuel to vehicles without valid PUC certificate is a tough but necessary step. Through this decision, the government wants to ensure that all vehicles follow the prescribed pollution standards and only those vehicles run on the roads, which are less harmful to the environment.
The Chief Minister clarified that this is not a temporary arrangement, but it will be implemented permanently. He said that providing clean air to the citizens of Delhi is the priority of the government and every necessary step will be taken for this. He also added that the problem of pollution has now become serious, taking tough decisions to deal with it has become the need of the hour.
Government’s appeal to the people
The government has appealed to the people to get their vehicles checked for pollution from time to time and always keep the PUC certificate updated. With this, not only will they not have any problem in filling fuel, but they will also be able to contribute to environmental protection.
With this new system, it is expected that the level of air pollution in Delhi will reduce and people will be able to get a clean and healthy environment. This step of the government is being considered a big effort towards environmental protection, which can prove helpful in ensuring better air quality in future.
