The demonstration of local people has intensified against the disconnection of electricity connections in the submerged area of Noida. Residents of Chhijarsi, Chotpur and Behlolpur areas took out a candle march demanding electricity. Earlier, people had also surrounded the office and residence of MLA Pankaj Singh.
In fact, the electricity department has been running a campaign against illegal electricity connections in the submerged area for the last four days. During this period, thousands of connections have been cut. A large number of people in the area are affected by the action of the electricity department and they say that everyday life has become difficult due to power cuts.
Illegal meters installed through private syndicate
It is being told that illegal meters were allegedly installed in the submergence area through a private syndicate and electricity was being supplied by taking money from the people. After receiving the complaint, the Chief Minister had instructed the officials of the electricity department to take action. After this, the department intensified the campaign and started disconnecting illegal connections.

At the same time, local people say that they have been living in these areas for many years and they also have land or house registry. In such a situation, their question is why the electricity connections are being cut suddenly. The protesting people are demanding that they should also be given regular electricity supply like other areas and permanent meters should be installed legally.

People angry over the power cut first surrounded the office of MLA Pankaj Singh and now expressed their displeasure by taking out a candle march. The protesters say that their protest will continue until the electricity problem is not resolved.
