To end the ongoing dispute with his wife and to make her happy, a young man stole a car from the car parking of Sector-18, Noida. The accused reached his wife in Etah with the stolen car and told her that he had bought the car. However, after a complaint of car theft was registered, the police arrested the accused. A stolen car and fake number plate have been recovered from him.
According to the police, the arrested accused has been identified as 22-year-old Arun son of Akhilesh. He is originally a resident of Sonsa village of Bagwala police station area of Etah and currently lives in a rented house in Chhijarasi, Sector-63, Noida. The accused works as a driver in Noida.
Car found missing from parking
The matter is of 12th September. The girl, a tattoo artist resident of Ghaziabad, had parked her Hyundai Exeter car in a parking lot located in Sector-18. After this she went to give an interview. On returning the car was found missing from the parking lot. On the complaint of the girl, a case of car theft was registered in Sector-20 police station.
Theft to convince wife
During police interrogation, accused Arun told that he was having a dispute with his wife. He wanted to convince his wife and go to her with a car to impress her. For this reason, he told the police about stealing the car from the parking lot. After stealing the car, Arun took it to Etah and told his wife that he had bought the car. Later, when he came to know that the police had registered a case in the car theft case, he went to his sister's house in Kannauj. According to the police, during this time he had also switched off his mobile phone.
How did the police catch the accused?
Sector-20 police station started searching for the accused with the help of local intelligence and electronic surveillance. On September 13, the police arrested Arun from near a vacant plot near the road leading from Attapir to DLF Mall. Police recovered Hyundai Exeter from the possession of the accused. The car had a fake number plate, while its original number plate was found kept in the trunk of the car. The actual number of the recovered car is UP14GB1456, while the fake number plate UP16C0007TC/02 was installed on it.
After interrogation, the police presented the accused in the court, from where he was sent to jail. Now the police has started taking further action.
