In the Delhi University Students Union Election (DUSU Election), Yash Dabas of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) won the post of President, defeating Vijay Meena of NSUI. Yash defeated Meena by a margin of 2053 votes. Yash Dabas got a total of 24,576 votes, while Meena got 22,523 votes against Yash. After this victory, Yash Dabas gave his first reaction. In his response he said that not me but you all have become the president.
ABVP retained its previous performance in the Delhi University Students' Union elections on the posts of President, Secretary and Joint Secretary. In the election for the post of secretary, ABVP candidate Riya Chhabri won by securing 21,650 votes, while NSUI candidate Namrata Chaudhary got 14,869 votes. Whereas for the post of Joint Secretary, ABVP candidate Lakshya Raj Singh won by securing 16,615 votes, while Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha (SP) candidate Vishesh Yadav came second with 15,778 votes. In the election for this post, NSUI candidate Gopal Chaudhary got 15,206 votes and stood third in this contest.

What did Yash Dabas say after winning the election?
After winning the elections, Yash Dabas told the students, 'Today it is not I but all of you who have become the president.' He said that he will work for the students 365 days a year. Yash again reiterated his promise to provide hostels for students in the coming time, safety of girls, audit to control the rent charged in PGs in Delhi and reiterated the talk of nationalism. He said, 'This victory is of social harmony, patriotism and unity.'
Independent Dipanshu Shaukeen did wonders
Independent candidate Dipanshu Shaukeen won the election for the post of Vice President by securing 30,615 votes. He defeated ABVP's Ishu Maurya and NSUI's Veer Chatrath by a large margin. NSUI had not given ticket to Shaukeen, after which he decided to contest the elections as an independent candidate. Shaukeen is doing MA from the Department of Buddhist Studies, Delhi. He is a resident of Peeragarhi village in West Delhi. His father is a bus conductor in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), while his mother is an Anganwadi teacher.
