Why the price hike?
According to the organization, the decision has been taken due to rising costs and international financial uncertainty, particularly the rise in raw material prices due to tensions in the Middle East. The new rates are as follows:
Haircut: ₹180
Shave: ₹120
Beard trimming: ₹150
Head Massage: ₹180
Hair wash: ₹120
Facial: Minimum ₹700
Hair Spa: ₹600
A review every two years, the organization claims
Shyam Askarkar, office bearer of Maharashtra Nuclear Corporation, said that generally every two years the rates are reviewed and changed; But due to the extraordinary situation that arose this time, the rate hike was forced before the scheduled period. The organization has pointed out that the continuous increase in the prices of oil, cream, blades and other essential materials is directly affecting the small businessmen.
There are more than one lakh barber shops in Maharashtra. This price hike is mainly applicable for conventional salons, luxury salons are excluded from this. As a result, the general public will be affected by this price hike.
