Bhubaneswar: Read government Friday approved 14 investment proposals worth Rs 2,780 crore, which has the potential to create employment for over 14,000 people, officials said.
The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, approved the projects, which are proposed to be established in Anugola, Balangir, Kataka, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Kendujhar, Khordha, Nayagada, Nuapada and Sundargada, they said.
The projects include the proposal of Haldiram Snacks Food Pvt Ltd for setting up a snacks and baked products manufacturing unit at an investment of Rs 500 crore, and a Rs 450-crore phosphorous-based derivatives manufacturing plant by Prasol Chemicals Ltd, according to an official statement.
Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd also got the government nod for development of a private railway siding in Angul district, with a cost of Rs 405.35 crore, it said.
The other investment proposals are from sectors like textile and apparel, agro and food processing, chemicals and chemical products, medical devices, pharma, steel, iron and ferro alloys and steel downstream manufacturing, the release added.
