The process of voter list for the upcoming elections in Odisha has been completed. Chief Electoral Officer R. Santhagopalan said that the final voter list of the state has been released on 21 September 2026.
Odisha Final Voter List 2026: The final voter list has been released after the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Odisha. According to the last Electoral Roll published on 21 September 2026, there are now a total of 3,16,32,754 voters registered in the state. There were 3,13,87,034 voters in the draft voter list released earlier. In this way, the number of voters in the final list has increased by 2,45,720.
In the new list, the number of male voters is 1,61,30,319, the number of female voters is 1,54,99,661 and the number of third gender voters is 2,774. Thus, details of all registered voters including male, female and third gender have been included in the final voter list of Odisha.
What changed after SIR?
A special intensive revision of the voter list in Odisha was done on the basis of the qualifying date of July 1, 2026. As per the procedure laid down by the Election Commission, the final list was prepared after door-to-door verification, publication of draft Electoral Roll, filing of claims and objections and disposal of related matters. The Commission’s official timetable had scheduled the publication of the draft list for Odisha as 5 July and the final Electoral Roll as 6 September; Later, information came to light that the final list will be published in the state on September 21.
During this process, details of a large number of voters were verified. According to the information given by the officials, after issuing the notice, the matters related to eligibility and records were investigated. At different stages, names which did not meet the standards of the final list due to ineligibility, transferred, duplicate or other reasons were removed.
More than 20 lakh names removed from the draft list
It has been reported that 20,57,334 names have been removed from the draft voter list during the SIR process. In these, changes were made in voter records due to various reasons. After this, under the process of claims and objections, an opportunity was also given to add the names of eligible people and make necessary corrections. This is the reason why there is a difference in the number of voters between the final list and the draft list.
The figure of more than 3.16 crore voters registered in the final list has come out after verification, corrections, claims-objections and inclusion of new names during SIR.
45,250 polling stations in Odisha
With the final voter list, preparations related to voting system in Odisha have also become important. A total of 45,250 polling stations have been earmarked in the state. It is important for voters to check their information before elections, so that if there is any problem in name, address or other details, correction can be done in time.
Through the Voters’ Services Portal of the Election Commission, voters can search their name in the Electoral Roll and can also get information related to their polling station.
