Kolkata, 12 August 2026: Another ISI operative arrested in Bengal The Special Task Force (STF) has given another major blow to the cross-border intelligence network operating in Bengal. After the arrest of Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Hamim Mandal, STF has arrested a Pakistani national from 'Bongaon', a border area of North 24 Parganas district on the India-Bangladesh border. The arrested suspect is an ISI agent, who has been identified as Rana Rauf alias Wahab.
According to preliminary investigation, the accused had entered India through Nepal border and was living in Topsia area of Kolkata for the last few months, pretending to be a well-off person.

To hide his true identity, he had obtained fake Indian identity documents with the help of a local resident of Kolkata. STF has also arrested the associate who had prepared these fake documents.
Rana was planning to run away to Bangladesh
Security agencies believe that Rana's main work was to collect sensitive information and send it across the border. After the arrest of Hamim Mandal, he had become alert and was planning to flee to Bangladesh via Bongaon. Currently, STF is conducting an in-depth investigation into his call details, foreign contacts and local associates.
