In a recent interview with US media, Trump said, “A lot of people are crying at Khamenei’s funeral. I’m a little surprised. Because I thought people hated him.” He then threatened, “All the top leaders of Iran are there. It is possible to kill them all with one shot. But we will not do that. Because then there will be no one else to talk to.”

Incidentally, Khamenei’s state funeral ceremony began in Tehran on Saturday. It will then pass through the cities of Qom, Najaf and Karbala in Iraq and end in Mashhad. The former leader will be buried there on Thursday, July 9. It is estimated that 2 crore people can attend here on the last day. All preparations have been made for that purpose. Thousands of buses, air services, cooking facilities, shelters have been prepared for transportation. About one and a half million euros have been allocated for the preparation of these few days and another five million euros for Qom and Mashhad. Altogether, Khamenei’s funeral is set to become the most expensive funeral ever.
