Death threat before PM Modi’s Australia tour, security agencies busy investigating social media post
New Delhi: Before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to Australia on July 9, a social media post has increased the concern of security agencies. A death threat was allegedly issued on a Facebook post related to the ‘Melbourne Meets Modi’ event in Melbourne, after which the Australian Federal Police (AFP) has started investigating the matter.
According to media reports, this comment was made below the post promoting the program. As soon as the post surfaced, security agencies took it seriously and started investigating.
Identification of IP address, search for the accused
According to reports, investigating agencies have identified the IP address associated with the threatening post. Now it is being ascertained who made the post and what was its purpose. It is also being investigated whether any Australian law has been violated in this matter. However, the Australian Federal Police has not yet issued any official statement in this matter.
