The newly released web series Operation Safed Sagar: The Untold Story of the Kargil War has earned a special shoutout from Ajay Devgn and Karan Johar.
The scale of this special series can be seen through its “unprecedented” access to Indian Air Force bases, filming at altitudes of nearly 4,900m, and the involvement of more than 1,200 local visual effects artists to create 50 minutes of aerial combat sequences.
The series revisits the Indian Air Force’s role in the 1999 Kargil War and pays homage to the IAF personnel who fought alongside the Indian Army during the conflict.
Taking to Instagram , the 57-year-old actor-producer praised the series while paying tribute to the “Indian Air Force heroes”.
Ajay wrote, “A deeply moving tribute to those who always chose to put nation before themselves. Salute to our IAF heroes. Congratulations to the entire team. Thoroughly enjoyed the show.”
On the other hand, the 54-year-old filmmaker was left impressed with the production and storytelling.
Karan penned, “Solid storytelling!!!! Supreme visuals! Engaging, Emotional, in Equal measure! Must watch!!! @netflix_in”
The six-part aerial-action series stars Siddharth, Jimmy Shergill, Abhay Verma, Mihir Ahuja, Taaruk Raina and Arnav Bhasin in key roles.
Created by Abhijeet Singh Parmar and Kushal Srivastava and directed by Oni Sen, Operation Safed Sagar has been streaming on Netflix since August 7.
