Veraval, August 17, 2026 – Mr. Somnath Sanskrit UniversityOn the topic “Shravane Shivsaparya” under Somnath Swabhiman festival by Veravalna Shivatattva Anusandhan Peeth. A two-day national seminar has been organized on August 17 and 18, 2026. This national seminar will be organized at Shri Somnath Sanskrit University, Veraval.
The patron and chairman of this seminar and Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Sukant Kumar is the commander. Registrar Dr. as inviter. Mahesh Kumar Metra and the organizer in-charge, Dr. D.M. Mokriya will provide guidance. Dr., Assistant Director of Shiv Tattva Anusandhan Peeth, was the coordinator of the seminar. Mangalvardhan Das Sadhu and research assistant Shri Bhavin Kumar as co-convenor. Pandya will fulfill the responsibility.
planning and purpose
The month of Shravan has special importance for the worship, worship and devotion of Lord Shiva. The main objective of this national symposium, organized keeping this sacred occasion in mind, is to conduct a classical and research study of Shiva Tattva, Shiva Bhakti, Shaiva tradition, Sanskrit literature and various forms of Shiva in the Indian knowledge tradition.
Which topics will be discussed?
Scholars and researchers of Sanskrit, philosophy, theology, history, art, architecture and Indian knowledge tradition from different areas of the country will participate in the seminar and present their research papers. In this, in-depth study on various topics like Shiva form and Shiva devotion in Shiv Stotra literature, Shiva principle in Sanskrit poetry and stotra literature, Shiva worship in Shravan, Shiva principle in Vedas and Shaiva Agamas, Shaiva literature and yoga, science in Shaiva literature, Shiva worship in folk life and architecture of Gujarat, contribution of Shiva literature in Indian knowledge tradition, Prabhasakshetra and Shiva worship. Will be discussed.
Apart from this, topics like Shiva Tattva in fourteen arts, Shiva Tattva in ancient weapons, the martyrdom story of Somnath temple and the grandeur of Somnath in the context of historical documents and the form of devotion in Dwadash Jyotirlinga story will also be at the center of research and discussion in the seminar.
No registration fee will be charged for participating in the national seminar. This seminar has been kept free of cost in the month of Shravan as a tribute to Lord Somnath. Research papers have also been invited on other research topics related to the main subject.
Through this two-day national seminar, there will be a detailed discussion on the classical, historical, cultural and spiritual dimensions of Shiva Tattva on the holy land of Somnath and the research of Shaiva tradition and Indian knowledge tradition will get a new direction.
Inaugural ceremony and presence of dignitaries
The inaugural ceremony of the two-day national seminar took place. It will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026 at 10:30 am in the “Prabhas Jyoti” educational building of Shri Somnath Sanskrit University, Veraval. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Sukantkumar will command. Prof. was the chief guest in the program. Kashyap Trivedi, Chairman, Sanskrit Department, Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma University, Bhuj will be present.
As special guest Prof. Haribhai Kataria, Vice Chancellor, Shri Govind Guru University, Godhra and Prof. Pratapsingh Chauhan, Vice Chancellor, Bhaktkavi Narsingh Mehta University, Junagadh was present and will present his views on the inaugural event. Saraswat as guest Prof. Dinesh Rasal, Department of Sanskrit and Prakrit Languages, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune will be present. In the program, Registrar of the University, Dr. Mahesh Kumar Maitra as the invitee, organizer and in-charge search director Dr. D.M. Mokriya, under the guidance of Pvt.
